I am a glass artist based in Cornwall, working primarily with kiln-formed and sculptural glass. My practice explores the relationship between material, landscape and time through processes of breaking, layering, firing and reworking glass.

I studied Graphic Design before spending around ten years living and working in Brighton and London. My introduction to glass came through stained glass, which I practised for around five years. Drawing on my design background, this early work explored strong graphic structures, bold colour and the relationship between line, pattern and composition.

Over time, my practice moved towards a more intuitive approach to making. Through painting and pattern work, I began breaking designs down into more abstract forms, exploring shape, movement and colour rather than fixed imagery. This interest in transformation and process continues to inform my work with glass.

I now work with sheet glass and reclaimed offcuts, using heat to shift the material between states of stability and change. Through cycles of breaking, layering and firing, I explore the balance between control and unpredictability, allowing the material itself to influence the development of each piece.

The landscapes of Cornwall and Devon are central to my practice. The granite coastline, geological formations, weathered rock surfaces and ancient monuments, including Neolithic and Bronze Age sites and standing stones, inform my understanding of time, permanence and presence. Rather than directly representing these landscapes, I am interested in how their qualities can emerge through glass: weight, erosion, layers and traces left over time.

I live and work in Cornwall, developing my kiln-formed and sculptural glass work from a shared studio in a boatyard in Penryn.
